This annotated bibliography provides a broad look at the academic work on gender mainstreaming in governments, intergovernmental organizations, and non-governmental organizations. It provides full citations for each piece of work included as well as a concise summary, highlighting the contributions of the piece to better understanding the relationship between gender, security and human rights.

This is a collection of syllabi (hosted on our website) for college and graduate courses which focus on or include substantial work in the areas of gender, security and human rights. In this collection, instructors from around the world have shared the resources, methods, and concepts they use to teach issues of concern to the Consortium. The Consortium has collected these syllabi as a reference for students and instructors interested in either developing knowledge of these subject areas or offering courses in them.

This bibliography was compiled by the Feminist Theory and Gender Studies (FTGS) section of the International Studies Association (ISA), tracing the work of its members on issues of gender in security, as well as on issues of gender and political economy, globalization, state-building, migration, colonization, and other issues in international politics. It represents the broad collection of work thought of as "feminist international relations" theory in political science and international relations. The Institute of International Education's Scholar Rescue Fund (SRF) provides fellowships for established scholars whose lives and work are threatened in their home countries. These fellowships permit professors, researchers and other senior academics to find temporary refuge at universities and colleges anywhere in the world, enabling them to pursue their academic work and to continue to share their knowledge with students, colleagues, and the community at large. When conditions improve, these scholars will return home to help rebuild universities and societies ravaged by fear, conflict and repression. During the fellowship, conditions in a scholar's home country may improve, permitting safe return; if safe return is not possible, the scholar may use the fellowship period to identify a longer-term opportunity.
